Refund and Return Policy

Contract for 30 Day Health Guarantee and 2-year Genetic Health Guarantee

This contract constitutes the full agreement between the Buyer and Seller of the puppy. The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale, having undergone a health check by our veterinarian. The Seller will provide the Buyer with a health record of all vaccinations and deworming, along with a veterinarian examination of the puppy. If the veterinarian examination is older than 21 days, the Seller will provide a letter of health guarantee stating that the dog is free from disease and defects and does not appear to be clinically ill from parasitic infestation.

Per the Puppy Lemon Law, the following conditions apply to this health guarantee:

  • Buyers must take newly purchased dogs to a state-licensed veterinarian within 10 days of purchase to protect their rights under the Dog Purchaser Protection Act. If the dog dies or is found to have a certified illness or defect, Buyers must notify the Seller immediately with the veterinarian’s name, address, and telephone number. Buyers must provide the veterinarian’s certification to the Seller within five days of receiving it. A veterinarian’s certification must include:
      1. Purchaser’s name and address
      2. Date of the dog’s examination
      3. Breed and age of the dog
      4. Confirmation of an illness or defect that renders the dog unfit for purchase
      5. Precise findings of the examination
      6. Recommended treatment and associated fees
      7. Veterinarian’s name, address, telephone number, and signature

The purchaser is responsible for the expense of this certification.

    • The Seller will not cover routine office visits, vaccines, or normal veterinary care beyond health illness.
    • If, within 10 days of purchase, the dog dies or is determined by a veterinarian to have a contagious, infectious, parasitic illness or becomes clinically ill, the Buyer has the following options:
      1. Return the dog for a complete refund
      2. Exchange the dog for a replacement of equal value
      3. Retain the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price.

If, within 30 days, the dog dies or is found to have a congenital or hereditary defect that adversely affects the animal, the Buyer has the same options listed above. A veterinarian’s certification is required for any refund, replacement, or reimbursement of veterinary costs.

Conditions for this health guarantee to remain valid:

  1. The Seller must be notified of the examining veterinarian’s name, address, and telephone number, as well as confirmation of the illness, defect, or death of the dog.
  2. The Buyer must provide the veterinarian certification within five days of receiving it. Refunds or reimbursements will be made no later than 14 days after the Seller receives the certification.
  3. If the Seller contests the findings, they may require, within two business days of notification, that the dog be examined by a licensed veterinarian designated by the Seller. Failure to comply within this timeframe will nullify any obligation for a refund, replacement, or reimbursement.

Peace of Mind 30 Day Guarantee (Except for NY residents)

To guarantee your new puppy is protected against any unexpected accident or illness when they first go home, the seller has partnered with Trupanion to offer an exclusive benefit of 30 days of medical insurance for your puppy. The offer is an automatic benefit for you, with no cost during the trial, and no commitment to continue. You must activate the 30 day offer in order to pick up your puppy. Though it is not required, it is strongly encouraged that the buyer stay on for longer term coverage. Puppies are 3 times more likely to see an unexpected, expensive vet visit than an older dog, and 1 in 2 puppies have such a visit within their first year.

Though we guarantee the health of your pup, the Trupanion policy will also guard against any genetic or heredity conditions and breed related tendencies that cannot be completely protected against.

If there are any health issues with your new puppy, the Seller will reimburse up to the $250 deductible and pay the 10% out of pocket expenses. This means that with your free 30 day offer, you truly will not have any expenses due to any health issues with your new puppy. Activation of your offer must be done within the 24 hrs. prior to picking up your puppy or before you leave with your puppy. Information on the offer and activation process will be provided. Thank you for helping to ensure the long-term health and happiness of your brand-new family member!

Additional Genetic Guarantee:

The Seller offers a 2-year genetic health guarantee. If the puppy is diagnosed with or dies from a suspected congenital defect within two years from the date of purchase, a letter from the veterinarian detailing proof of the congenital defect is required. If the puppy has died, an autopsy must be performed at the Buyer’s expense to confirm the cause of death. If the autopsy confirms a congenital defect, the puppy will be replaced at no cost. A written statement from the veterinarian is required.

Additional Terms:

  • This guarantee becomes void if the puppy is resold or if any condition develops due to neglect, malnourishment, or obesity as determined by the Seller’s veterinarian.
